New Patent and Copyright Laws in China

The new Copyright and Patent Laws entered into force on 1 June 2021. Both the copyright and the patent law underwent major and important changes introducing new concepts such as the patent linkage system and the open license system or the possibility of reversal of the burden of proof as well as increasing damages for infringements. To develop a comprehensive IP strategy for China’s market, enterprises should have a good understanding of the recent changes.

The German Centres in China in Beijing, Shanghai and Taicang and the China IP SME Helpdesk jointly organised this online-offline seminar to provide an overview of the main changes and what companies should know when operating in China’s market.

During this webinar, Mr. Charles Feng, the Partner of East & Concord, and Mr. Matias Zubimendi, the IP Business Advisor at China IP SME Helpdesk, discussed the main changes of the Copyright and Patent Law in practical terms.
